Gilbert Tuhabonye

cmrGilbert is a special person. One of the best runners in the country of Burindi, on October 21, 1993 he was caught in a battle between his tribe, the Tutsis, and the Hutus. His high school was surrounded and the students inside were stabbed, set on fire and left to die. Tuhabonye survived and eventually came to this country to go to college and run. It was running that saved his life.
