Jamie Monroe is the race director for the brand new Tri Rock Triathlon (1/2 mile swim, 11 mile bike, 5K run) coming up in downtown San Diego on September 12th. The best part? Blake Leeper was born with a birth defect and has spent almost his entire life missing both legs below the knee. The 20 year old University of Tennessee student played baseball and basketball in high school before discovering that he has the perfect build and personality to be a sprinter. He is being coached by 1984 Olympic Gold Medalist Joaquim Cruz and is looking forward to January and his first head-to-head battle with the legendary Oscar Pistorius. Blake’s goal? To run under 11 flat for 100 meters!
Bobby Grich is a six-time All- Star and a four-time Gold Glove Award Winner for the Baltimore Orioles and the California Angels. He joined us to chat about both his career and the upcoming All-Star Game 5K run and one-mile fun run coming up on July 11.
