Davis Phinney

cmrFor his teammates, Davis Phinney was always their go-to guy when it came to winning time. The same goes for Huddle and me when it comes to lining up a guest for a classic interview. Davis is always our go-to guy as well. His new book, The Happiness of Pursuit, chronicles his legendary years as one of America’s best cyclists, his marriage to Olympic Gold Medalist Connie Carpenter and the blossoming cycling career of their son Taylor. When he was 40 years old, Davis was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and the book also deals with the creation of the Davis Phinney Foundation and their search every day for small victories.

Angela Naeth

Canadian Angela Naeth is having a great year in 2011. She took second place at both the Galveston 70.3 and the St. Croix 70.3. How good is she?  In St. Croix, she held off Ironman World Champion Mirinda Carfrae in the run. That doesn’t happen very often!  She followed those two races with a win in the woman’s division and a second place overall to Jordan Rapp at the Leadman250 Triathlon, which consists of a 3.1 mile swim, a 138.6 mile bike and finishes up with a 13.7 run.
