The Wildflower Triathlon weekend is a must-do for any endurance athlete. With the 30th anniversary coming up in early May, it was the perfect time to bring on Terry Davis, Mr. Widlflower. The stories around that first race in the pouring rain where Dean Harper and Mark Montgomery both crossed the finish line from opposite directions are classic!

Tim O’Donnell went to Galveston to race against a stacked field including the seven-time winner of the Tour de France, Lance Armstrong. It turned out to be the most important triathlon in O’Donnell’s career.

When you think triathlon, a name that probably doesn’t come quickly to mind is England’s Elton John. But The Rocket Man has created a group to help support young up- and- coming British triathletes. Luke Lloyd Davies, who is part of Rocket Sports Management, came on the show to discuss Sir Elton’s connection to our sports and why he has chosen to invest in endurance.

It was a classic. The three-time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander dueling it out with 10-time Ironman New Zealand Champion Cam Brown at the first ever Ironman Melbourne. Crowie came on to chat about the race, how he has changed his game through the years, and the challenges he faces balancing his racing, training, traveling and promotional opportunities with spending quality time with his wife, Neri, and their two young children. Craig also talks about the possibility of Lance, Lieto, Macca, himself, the Raelert brothers, and so many others going head-to-head in Kona in October.

Chris McCormack came on after winning Lava Man to chat about his prospects for making the Aussie Olympic team. Even more exciting, Macca chats about the prospects of two Americans, Lance and Lieto, getting off the bike with the lead in Kona this October, with the two Aussies who have won the last five Ironman World Championship titles – Crowie and Macca- trying to chase them down, along with the Raelert brothers from Germany … could be amazing!

Ryan Lamppa and David Monico from www.bringbackthemile.com came in studio to chat about their mission to get U.S. high schools, colleges, and road races to start showcasing the most recognizable event in track and field.

Larry Turkheimer and the LA Tri Club annually put on the www.coast2coastswim.com which not only provides free lessons to kids who can’t swim, it helps to save lives. It’s an awesome event where 100% of all the money goes to the cause….
