Blake Leeper is 22 years old and has only been running for three years. But right now, the double below knee amputee 100, 200 and 400 meter specialist just might be the guy who can knock off the great Oscar Pistorius at the Paralympics in London.
Blake Leeper was born with a birth defect and has spent almost his entire life missing both legs below the knee. The 20 year old University of Tennessee student played baseball and basketball in high school before discovering that he has the perfect build and personality to be a sprinter. He is being coached by 1984 Olympic Gold Medalist Joaquim Cruz and is looking forward to January and his first head-to-head battle with the legendary Oscar Pistorius. Blake’s goal? To run under 11 flat for 100 meters!
