James Spellman

cmrEveryone has a story and some of them are unbelievable. I occasionally see James Spellman at the races and the guy is always on his bike. After a short conversation I realized that James is so into cycling that he has ridden in a car only ten times since 2001 and is on his bike three times a day every day of the year. When you add in the fact that he has overcome a crystal meth addiction which left him penniless and homeless, it helps you realize how riding a bike can actually save someone’s life.

Bob Roll

Whenever we get down about all the drug issues and negative publicity that we are constantly having to deal with in cycling, there is one go-to guy that always fires Huddle and me up all over again.  Bob Roll, as always, is totally jazzed about what we will be seeing in the peloton this year and his enthusiasm is infectious. For the documentary film Running the Sahara, he and his teammates ran 4,500 miles across the Sahara Desert in 111 days averaging over 40 miles a day. Hey, when was the last time you took only two showers in 111 days?
