The Ultramarathon Man, Dean Karnazes, came on with us the night before his tenth Badwater Ultramarathon. LOVE his comments on our need to get outside our comfort zone and test ourselves. The man, as always, was spot on.
Dean Karnazes is one of our all time favorite guests. He came on to chat about his plans to run a marathon in all of the countries of the world in 2013 and how much he loves creating his running adventures.
The numbers are staggering. Dean Karnazes just finished running 3,000 miles across America in 75 days, averaging 40-50 miles a day. How important was his crew to the success of the adventure? How cool was it to meet Michelle Obama and run to the White House with 150 kids? And, most importantly, how did he stay healthy while stringing together 300 mile running weeks?
Dean Karnazes is almost half way through his 75 day, 3,000 running journey across the country. Harald Zundel-aka The German- a long time adventure racer, has been on Dean’s crew the entire way and running 20 miles a day himself. Harald came on from Kansas to chat about finding rifles on the side of the road, interesting road kill and the trip so far. You can follow Dean’s run at www.liveregisandkelly.com
Dean Karnazes is in the midst of another legendary running journey, this time for a great charity called Action For Healthy Kids. In conjunction with LIVE with Regis and Kelly, Dean is running 40-50 miles a day and making his way 3,000 miles across the country. We caught up to the Ultramarathon Man after his first nine days on the road where he covered over 400 miles. You can follow Dean at www.liveregisandkelly.com
Yin and Yang; long and short; AJ Acosta and the man who ran 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states, Dean Karnazes. Karno, as always, was an awesome interview. The guy can actually run on water!
Dean Karnazes, the UltraMarathon Man, came on to discuss his 500 mile ElliptiGO trip from Northern Cal to the Honda LA Marathon and his next goal: To run a marathon in all 207 of the world’s countries all in one year.
