Leo Manzano came to the U.S. from Mexico when he was just four years old. During some of the first running races he wore hiking boots and long pants. Leo has definitely come a long way. This past summer he became the first American to medal at the Olympic 1500 since Jim Ryun back in 1968 when he took home the silver. Leo has an awesome personality that comes through even over the phone.
Jim Ryun was the first high school runner to break the 4:00 minute mile and as a senior ran 3:55.3, a mark that stood for 36 years. The three time Olympian and 1500 meter silver medalist came on with us to go through his unbelievable career. What an awesome interview!
