Pete Jacobs won the most important event in his sport, the Ironman Triathlon World Championship, in 2012. How did that win change his life, and how is he bouncing back from his tough race in Kona this past October?
So what happens after you become the Ironman World Champion? Plenty! Three weeks after the biggest win of his life, Pete Jacobs came on to take us through the months and weeks leading into Kona and the blow-by-blow of race day.
Funny story. The evening before this chat, Pete was in Noosa having dinner with fellow Aussies three-time Ironman World champion Craig Alexander and two-time Ironman World Champion Chris McCormack. A fan came up and wanted to get a photo…..with Crowie and Macca. “Pete, it just shows that winning only once doesn’t quite do it,” laughed Crowie.
Pete Jacobs surprised a lot of people when he took second to Craig Alexander last October in Kona. But you can tell from this interview that Pete definitely has bigger goals in mind and feels that there is no reason he can’t move up a notch and win the 2012 Ironman World Championship.
