Max Fennell was hoping to become a professional soccer player until he hurt his knee. A friend loaned him a bike and suggested he try his first triathlon at the Tri Rock Philly in 2011. He loved the experience and, even though he swam breaststroke for a big part of the swim, he ended up finishing seventh in his division in the sprint race. His goal now is to become the first African American professional triathlete and to one day make the U.S. Olympic triathlon team.
Alex Gorsky is the CEO of Johnson & Johnson, the title sponsor for Tri Rock Philly. After completing the sprint distance race on June 22nd -he would do the Olympic distance the following day- we spent a few minutes talking about his background, the sport of triathlon and the value of fitness to the organization.
Bob O’Leary, who is the CEO of Philadelphia Insurance, was part of a relay team at Tri Rock Philly with CAF athletes Denise Castelli and One Arm Willie Stewart, and on August 11th he will be running the Falmouth Road Race for the 27th time in a row. We sat down in the amazing Philadelphia Insurance fitness center to chat about the company’s commitment to fitness, CAF, and triathlon.
